Our six horses are all born at the Skiathos Riding Center – except Taki, a typical greek mountain horse from the island – and are a cross breed between jugoslavian with anglo/arab horses. Since they are neither too big nor too short, they are perfect for the mountain trail tours we offer and are as well used to the warm clima of Greece. They live all year through together in a group as family and outside in the fields, except during the hard winter days, when they go back to the stable area.
Stallion, born 1994, leading horse for all tours, +/- 16 hands height and very fast, except he has a lazy day. For a stallion well behaved as long as he has the saddle on his back.
The allrounder, born 1993, leading horse for all tours, is perfect for absolute beginners and children, can go on the lead, but loves to go on the faster rides and is full of power, very well behaved and very attached to the family. She is +/- 16.5 hands high and half sister of Geronimo (same father).
The oldest horse of the Skiathos Riding Center, born in 1977 and about 15 hands high. He is perfect for children and complete beginners, can go on the lead as well. Taki gives you the impression that you know how to ride, even if you are still a beginner. Since he is quite old now, we prefer to let him go only on the slow rides, even if he likes to do the faster ones as well. Young experienced girls can still have the pleasure to ride him and enjoy his smooth canters.
She is a lovely horse, born in 1997 and has +/- 15 hands, easy to ride for beginners and children, can go on the lead. She is not the fastest horse, but especially for young girls on the experienced ride very easy to handle.
Our big baby, born in 1998 (father is Geronimo) and about 16.5 hands high, a big softy and good looking fellow. Very nice to ride, can go on the lead and with beginners, but definitely prefers to go on the faster rides with a good experienced rider.
Born in 2003, Saskis son and +/- 16.5 hands high, very soft and lovely character like his mother. Leading horse, very nice to ride for experienced as well as for semi experienced riders in the group and since last year he goes with absolute beginners and on the lead, conncected with his mother. Bravo Larry!
Our lovely old lady, perfect for infants and kids to have a first riding experience. She is very patient and gentle, lazy of course to go round the choral, but give her a carrot and she will run like a young foal.
